Poster Competition Rights of the Child in 2010

Brussels, December 9, 2009

The European Commission, Directorate-General Justice, Freedom and Security on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of childhood launches a competition at European level, of poster making. The competition is open to all young people living in one of the 27 membri dell'Unione europea, nelle fasce d'età 10-14 o 15-18. I candidati devono formare squadre di almeno quattro giovani e un adulto, che sarà responsabile della squadra per tutta la durata del progetto, inclusi viaggi e cerimonie di premiazione. Non esiste limite massimo al numero di giovani per squadra. Gli elaborati dovranno essere consegnati entro il 19 marzo 2010 I poster dei vincitori nazionali saranno presentati sul sito web della Commissione europea nello Stato membro interessato e sul sito web della Direzione generale Giustizia, libertà e sicurezza.

+2009 LIFE: approved 196 projects of which 39 Italians

Brussels, December 9, 2009

The European Commission has approved funding for 15 new projects in the energy sector that will contribute significantly to economic recovery, while enhancing security of supply and significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Among them, an Italian project, presented by Enel to capture and storage of emissions from coal-fired power plant in Porto Tolle (RO). The capture will affect the emissions corresponding to an output of 250 MW of electricity and storage will take place in a nearby saline aquifer.

promote the technology of CCS (carbon capture and storage) with € 1 billion allocated to six projects, the Commission recognizes the importance of constant energy from fossil fuels and the need to adapt energy system to a low carbon economy. L’Italia riceve il SOLVIT Business Award 2009

Roma, 10 dicembre 2009

L’Italia ha ricevuto il SOLVIT Business Award, premio che viene assegnato annualmente al paese che si è distinto nella risoluzione del maggior numero di reclami presentati dalle imprese attraverso la rete SOLVIT . Il premio ha rappresentato il riconoscimento della bontà del lavoro svolto dal centro italiano con sede a Roma che, tra l’altro, è stato segnalato anche tra quelli che hanno ottenuto il maggiore incremento di reclami ricevuti. La rete SOLVIT si occupa di risolvere problemi tra imprese e cittadini da una parte e un’amministrazione pubblica nazionale dall’altra e, attraverso di essa, gli Stati members work together to solve all those problems that may arise from the misapplication of EU legislation. The network continues to grow so that in the cases examined in July 2009 amounted to 1,400, an increase of 68% over the last year.

Il Ministro per le politiche europee, Andrea Ronchi, ha presentato in Consiglio dei Ministri il rapporto denominato “Strategia di Lisbona per la crescita e l’occupazione – Stato di attuazione al 2009” e risposta alla crisi economica ” che illustra le principali misure adottate o in corso di elaborazione per realizzare gli obiettivi definiti nell’ambito della Strategia di Lisbona che, è utile ricordarlo, avrà termine nel 2010. Il documento è strutturato in tre grandi aree (macroeconomica, microeconomica, occupazione e lavoro) mentre i punti trattati nel documento sono molteplici. La parte iniziale è dedicata all’analisi della crisi and economic measures taken in response to it while the subsequent sections are devoted to several key points to achieve the Lisbon objectives. Among the factors examined in the document can remember: simplification, youth entrepreneurship, innovation and industrial property, labor policies, information technology, school reform, environment, regional policy, social policy, health.

national contest "Trip to Europe 2010 "

Representation in Italy of the European Commission has given its patronage to the third national contest "Trip to Europe 2010, organized by Italian Cultural Union players. The goal of the contest is essentially to stimulate students' interest towards European issues, with particular attention to the theme of cultural and linguistic diversity that characterizes the Member States. They can enter the competition, students of all levels with the creation of an elaborate, result of an earlier preliminary work done in class, inspired by issues such as cultural and linguistic diversity and local traditions and customs of the various States within the EU. The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2010.

research funding thanks to European funds

L ' University of Florence will be allocated € 7 million and 400 thousand to 18 research projects in the fields of socio-economic sciences and humanities and for the participation of young researchers to joint activities, university-business. To activate the financing by the Tuscany Region , which draws on the resources of this European Regional Development Fund (ERDF ) and the European Social Fund (ESF ), the first two agreements signed on December 10 2009 Search Eugene Baronti the councilor and the rector of the University of Florence, Alberto Tesi. A territorial pact between the region and EU

" Making Europe out of the crisis: first proposals of the Regions for futuro del bilancio e delle politiche dell'Unione Europea”. Verte su queste tematiche la riunione delle Regioni che aderiscono alla CRPM (la conferenza delle regioni periferiche e mediterranee) che si è svolta a Marsiglia a fine novembre, sotto la presidenza di Claudio Martini, presidente della Toscana e della CRPM.

La riunione ha visto l'approvazione di un documento nel quale le Regioni rivendicano il riconoscimento del loro ruolo nel governo del territorio e nelle azioni intraprese per fronteggiare la crisi e chiedono maggiore coordinamento con le politiche nazionali ed europee. Nel suo intervento Martini ha sottolineato l'importanza di un “patto territoriale” fra le Regioni e l'Unione Europea.

È ancora aperto il bando della Regione Toscana per i contributi ai progetti di investimento nelle zone svantaggiate che promuovono il trasferimento tecnologico e creano laboratori, centri servizi e centri di ricerca per le PMI. In particolare, sono stati riaperti i termini per la linea di intervento 5.4.b “Infrastrutture per lo economic development centers, business services, centers of competence SMEs in disadvantaged areas.
